One of North Carolina’s most distinctive experimental electronic artists, Animalweapon blends dream-pop, dark synth/electronica and alternative influences into a melancholic, melodic sound uniquely his own. A Webby Award winner for his soundtrack work on the hit podcast Undisclosed (Rabia Chaudry, Jon Cryer), Animalweapon also composed the theme for Grim & Mild’s The Hidden Djinn, from Lore creator and executive producer Aaron Mahnke, released on iHeartRadio. His album Set of Constraints (2022) reached #2 on Echoes on PRX/NPR, with other career highlights including a feature on SPIN’s Twitch and regular appearances at Hopscotch Music Festival day parties. Animalweapon’s first two singles, “Tug” and “Destruct Codes,” from his upcoming album on Nashville’s Polychromatic Records, are produced by Mark Watrous (The Shins, Loudermilk, The Raconteurs).
